Steak Pan Seared

Cast-Iron or other Pan Searing.

Ingredients

  • 1 or more steaks. Try to get a good cut of steak with plenty of fat marbling. Rib eye, New York, or Filet Mignon are good.
  • Worcestershire sauce.
  • Salt. Kosher salt is good.
  • Other steak seasoning. Avoid rubs with sugar or too much black pepper.
  • Coffee.
  • Butter
  • Oil (avocado oil best because of high temp).
  • Optional: Black pepper.
  • Optional: AI Steak Sauce.
  • Optional: Bacon bits.

Preparations

  1. Let steaks come to room temperature.
  2. Trim steaks for aesthetics.
  3. Rub a little Worcestershire on front and back of each steak.
  4. Rub salt or other seasoning onto front, back, and sides of each steak.
  5. Brew 1 cup of coffee per steak.
  6. Put each steak into a marinating container and cover with coffee.
  7. Marinate at room temperature for 3 to 4 hours.
  8. Remove each steak to paper towels and pat dry.
  9. Create a butter rub with butter and steak seasoning or steak rub mixed together.
  10. Cover fry pan with (avocado) oil liberally.
  11. Heat frying pan hot on high. Wait until pan is hot.
  12. Put each steak down on frying pan. Press each steak down to make good contact with the pan.
  13. Cook first side 2 minutes then flip over and press steak down.
  14. Lower heat to medium low and cook another 2 minutes.
  15. Remove steak to a resting plate and add some of the butter mix next to it so it melts. Let rest 5 minutes.
  16. Serve with butter mix and optionally black pepper, bacon bits, and AI sauce.
