Oppenheimer Martini

Oppenheimer Martini (classic version)

Ingredients

• 4 oz Gin.
• 1/4 oz dry vermouth.
• 1 oz lime juice.
• 1 oz honey.
• Lime wedge for garnish.
• Ice for chilling.
• Optional: 1 cigarette (Oppenheimer was a heavy smoker).

Glassware

• Cocktail Glass.

Construction

• Chill glassware.
• Chill gin.
• Chill vermouth.
• Blend lime juice and honey and spread on a rimming plate and rim the martini glass.
• Fill a mixing glass with ice.
• Add vermouth and gin to the mixing glass and stir well.
• Pour mixture through a strainer into the martini glass.
• Garnish with lime wedge.

Drinking

• Drink with a cigarette.
• Make Oppenheimer's favorite toast “To the confusion of our enemies”.
